We would like to introduce you to Norman D. Stovall, III. A good friend and a great cattleman from the small town of Graham, Texas – a town that knows a thing or two about greatness.
Like the best ranchers, Norman is as much a researcher, scientist, and nutritionist as he is a fine cowboy. Norman is a leader in data collection and analysis, reproductive evaluation, and management strategies. Deep knowledge and important skills that improve the overall health and temperament of his herd. It’s hard to put Norman in a box, but as far as his cattle, they check all the boxes. Since taking over as president and GM of Agri-Ventures Corp. in 2005, Norman, like those that came before him, goes out of his way to do the right things the right way. He pursues greatness and helps others do the same. It’s being able to gather with the best, like Norman, that makes Prime Pursuits such a powerful program. You’ll be glad he’s on your team.
I’m a fourth-generation rancher that owes a lot to this land and those that came before me. In 1873, my great-great-grandfather, Col. Edwin S. Graham, and his brother Gustavus, established the town of Graham, Texas. It was right here that the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association was formed. And for all you Dallas Cowboys fans – and who’s not – you’ll be happy to know that Hall of Famer Bob Lilly called Graham home.
As a kid, I loved gathering cattle. Being on horseback, being with my friends, just being around cattle and having the opportunity to work with my dad. Working side by side with my late father for 45 years will always be one of the greatest honors of my life. We were a pretty good team, and for that opportunity, I’m thankful. Speaking of teams, I’m thankful to be part of the Prime Pursuits team. They’re good people with a wealth of knowledge. The bottom line is their data and genetics deliver results. It’s nice to know this program is with me from beginning to end. From the calf produced to the steak on the plate. Everyone involved in Prime Pursuits, from the ranchers across the country, to McClaren Farms, to Walmart, is not only dedicated to high quality and great taste, but also to the well-being of the environment. I think we all share the belief that sustainability is survivability. And last but not least, I want to thank my wife, Carli -- without her being by my side, none of this would be possible.
